[atrb=border,0,true] The morning son was bright and virgin, a ruby dotting the golden horizon. The air was hazy and damp, fresh from Mother Nature's long exhale of night. Dew hung on every inch of vegetation like precious crystalline orbs, fragile and exploding into a million translucent pieces with every drop. The old, rusted swings of Kinsley creaked in the morning breeze, the tall grasses of the abandoned soccer field swishing side to side. Birds chirped merrily in their happy tree tops, pleased that winter was long gone. Eggs were still a few months away, as it was still early in the year, yet mates could be seen flying around, scavenging twigs and leaves. Besides the winged creatures, the area was rather empty. To any passer-by, Kinsley parked seemed empty. To a distinguished, trained eye, one might spot a small, cream-colored puff-ball resting on a swing, eyes tightly shut, fur sprinkled with dew. Tatiana shuddered awake, shaking her dank fur with a gusto. Tiredly she stood, her legs shaky and weak. Her mind was clouded with thoughts and dreams, her eyes hazed and her senses hungover. Looking around, she noticed her sister was no where to be found. Like always. Jumping down from the swing, the molly tried to clear he conscience from the previous night's nightmares. Her hair prickled with the remembrance of them. This had been the third night in a row she had had the same dream. Sinking down on her haunches, she sighed, the dream recollecting in her mind... "Isabella - Isabella?! Bella, are you there?" Tatiana croaked, her eyes wild and afraid, her tiny, timid body shaking like an Autumn leaf. "Isabella!?" She cried, her back arching with the effort of the yowl. She couldn't stand, hell, she couldn't even feel her legs -- where one Earth was Isabella!? "BELLA! BELLA! ISABELLA!!" Finally, her tender ears picked up a trace of sound... footsteps. Padded paws coming her way. "Tatiana? Is that you?" Isabella. It was Isabella! Perking up, Tatiana tried to stand again, this time managing to stay off the ground for a few seconds before flopping down on the turf again. "Isabella, I-Isa--" She was cut off by a fierce hiss, her sister was speaking again, "Tatiana, shut the hell up, will you? Grow the fuck up already." "Isabella, I-I'm hurting." "Hurting? You're always fucking hurting.." With that, Isabella was gone. Leaving Tatiana alone again. Always alone. |
